When patients arrive in hospital, they often stay in pyjamas or gowns until discharge. But staying in bed too long can slow recovery.

- Reduces risk of complications from being bed-bound

- Bring a fresh change of clothes each day
- Choose lightweight, comfortable outfits (wards can be warm)
- Help keep your loved one engaged and motivated
Be Involved in Your Recovery
- Know your treatment plan
- Work with your clinical and therapy teams
- Aim to get back home as soon as possible

- Get dressed in your own clothes, it lifts your mood
- Sit out in your chair, keeps muscles strong
- Walk to the bathroom, builds independence
